I let a fart slip in the office. It was a squeaker so it could've been interpreted as a noise coming from my chair or my shoe scraping the floor. We work on hard floors so I feel like it could easily not be interpreted as a fart and so far I passed it off like it wasn't a fart but I worry my direct manager who sits next to me may have realized it was a fart. I have no evidence of either case. I don't think anyone else in the office noticed due to them having headphones in/not a lot of people being in today anyway.
Should I have apologized that I let a fart slip on accident? Or should I play dumb and not even acknowledge the fart? At this point it feels like too much time has passed and I should move on. But I can't help but feel embarrassed and that this is a dirty secret that will be talked about behind my back. I don't want to be labelled as a gross farter.

Everyone farts and sometimes one or two gets away from us. Just don't make it a habit.
Should I have apologized that I let a fart slip on accident?
I personally don't think it's necessary since you were just sitting in the office.
