Currently still a newbie programmer interning at a financial company. Their code base is primarily Java. I'll also have to brush up on databases (MySQL, DB2), and version control systems (VCS I think I'm fine with). However, I never actually built a full-stack web application, and wanted to do so; But It would make more sense to just use javascript to make a project like this.
But If I spend time learning about javascript, I'll fall behind in Java since I'm relatively new in it (I used c++ in school). I will say that I am somewhat familiar with Javascript already because I made a small website with it.
Would it be stupid to learn both simultaneously? It just doesn't seem realistic, and I don't think I'll be using much Java in the future because I want to pivot to a software company, and I believe Java web-app frameworks are becoming archaic, and Javasript is practical and also can scale as well. Thoughts?
