Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ is still flying its flag at No.1 on the ARIA singles chart this week, but it’s a slightly lonelier place for it this week, with previous single ‘Sorry’ departing the top five, dropping from four to seven.

Jonas Blue’s reimagining of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ continues to kick goals. Though it’s still the bridesmaid this week at No.2, it does pick up a shiny new platinum certification for 70,000 copies sold.

Zara Larsson’s ‘Lush Life’ makes a charge for the top this week, rising from eight to four, followed by Elle King’s ‘Ex’s & Oh’s’, which is up two to No.5.

Sydney producer Flume bags his first ever top ten single with ‘Never Be Like You’. The new track, featuring the vocals of Canadian songstress Kai, premieres in the No.10 spot – the only debut in this week’s top 50 – ahead of Charlie Puth’s ‘One Call Away’, which is up 12 places to No.11 with a bullet.

As we revealed during the week (HERE), Troye Sivan’s single ‘Youth’ has been certified gold, having sold more than 35,000 copies. It’s up one to No.17.

Mashd N Kutcher’s ‘My Sunshine’ bullets eight to No.18, Tobtok’s version of ‘Fast Car’ tips over into top 20 territory (No.21 to No.19) and, after dropping 14 places last week, The Weeknd’s ‘In The Night’ regains 12 to No.22.

Marcus Marr and Chet Faker’s single ‘The Trouble With Us’ is down nine (No.14 to No.23), Hilltop Hoods and James Chatburn’s ‘Higher’ is down eight (No.19 to No.27) and Rachel Platten’s ‘Stand By You’ is down 15 (No.16 to No.31).

But gaining good ground this week are singles from Selena Gomez (‘Hands To Myself’ up from No.41 to No.30), LDRU (‘Keeping Score’ up from No.45 to No.32), Kiiara (‘Gold’ up – and how – from No.92 to No.33) and Chainsmokers (‘Roses’ up from No.75 to No.37).

David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’, which was the highest charting of his singles last week in the wake of his death, drops from No.31 to No.44, while Zhu is still ‘Working For It’ (up from No.57 to No.45).

New entries at Nos.56 and 58. Twenty One Pilots claim the former with ‘Stressed Out’ and G-Eazy ftg. Bebe Rexha claim the latter with ‘Me, Myself & I’.

Queen and Bowie’s ‘Under Pressure’ slides 18 to No.60, Disclosure and Lorde’s ‘Magnets’ slumps 23 to No.63. But while some songs are on their way out, others are on their way in; debuts for Adele’s ‘All I Ask’ and Rüfüs’ ‘Say A Prayer For Me’ at Nos.65 and 66 respectively.

R City’s former No.2 hit ‘Locked Away’ may be down nine spots to No.67, but it picks up a double platinum certification this week after gracing the top 100 for 25 weeks.

‘The Sound’ is new for The 1975 at No.73, ‘My House’ is new for Flo Rida at No.87 and ‘Monster’ is new for Kanye West and co at No.91.

Silento’s ‘Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)’ says goodbye to the top 100 this week, but fires a parting salvo by notching up a double platinum certification as it leaves.

ALBUMS

There’s a bit of mixed news for David Bowie purists this week on the ARIA albums chart. Yes, he may have snagged his first No.1 album in Australian chart history last week with ‘Blackstar’ (★), but it’s already been replaced in the No.1 position by Adele and her blisteringly successful ’25’.

That said, the purists will take some comfort from the fact that David’s album has achieved a gold sales certification, for sales of more than 35,000 copies. Still not bad going after just two weeks in.

Panic! At The Disco achieve their second highest Aussie chart entry with their new album ‘Death Of A Bachelor’ this week. It’s new at No.3, ahead of Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’ and David Bowie’s ‘Nothing Has Changed’. ‘Best Of Bowie’ improves from No.9 to No.6.

Brothers3 see their long-awaited new album ‘Brothers Never Part’ enter the countdown at a respectable No.11, not bad considering it’s more than a year since they were last seen on ‘The X Factor’.

Following the death of The Eagles’ founding member Glenn Frey last week, their ‘The Complete Greatest Hits’ re-enters the countdown at No.14; also its highest ever chart position in Australia (previous peak No.17 back in late 2004).

Adele’s ’21’ rises five to No.15, Adam Brand & The Outlaws’ self-titled set loses 12 to No.18, David Bowie’s ‘The Next Day’ also hits a new gold certification in position 22 and Daughter tries their best ‘Not To Disappear’, debuting in the No.26 position.

A cluster of bullets huddles around the mid 30s; Adele’s ’19’ rising from No.54 to No.34, The Eagles’ ‘Selected Works : 1972 – 1999’ re-entering at No.35, Jesus Culture’s ‘Let It Echo’ debuting at No.36 and Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ rising from No.47 to No.37.

NWA’s ‘Straight Outta Compton’ is back in at No.39, ‘The Very Best Of The Eagles’ returns to the countdown at No.43 and David Bowie’s ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars’ loses 23 places from last week’s No.21 re-entry.

Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Blurryface’ re-enters the top 50 at No.49 (up from No.76).

The accreditation for David Bowie’s classic album ‘Let’s Dance’ also got updated during the week; from nothing at all to platinum. It’s down from No.37 to No.51, ahead of ‘The Best Of David Bowie 1969-1974’, which slumps 38 places to No.52.

Cold Chisel’s ‘All For You : The Best Of’ rises 24 to No.53, David Bowie’s ‘Scary Monsters’ also achieves an accreditation update (now platinum) at No.52, NWA’s ‘Greatest Hits’ is back in at No.56 and Adam Harvey’s ‘Harvey’s Bar… The Backyard Sessions’ re-enters at No.59.

Elle King’s ‘Love Stuff’ is new at No.68, the soundtrack to ‘Star Wars : The Force Awakens’ falls into chart slumber – down from No.34 to No.69 – and Luke O’Shea’s ‘Caught Up In The Dreaming’ is new at No.71.

Two more big drops come courtesy of David Bowie’s ‘Hunky Dory’ (down 27 to No.72) and Katy Perry’s ‘Prism’ (down 34 to No.73), Tina Arena’s ‘Eleven’ slides 18 to No.76 and Birds Of Tokyo’s ‘Playlist’ is down 22 to No.82.

The Eagles’ ‘Their Greatest Hits : 1971 – 1975’ is new at No.83, Queen’s ‘Greatest Hits’ loses 38 places (No.46 to No.84) and David Bowie’s 2010 live album ‘A Reality Tour’ is new at No.91.
