Kaevikuliin Esimeses maailmasõjas


Kaevikusõda on sõja vorm, kus vastased on hõivanud kaitsepositsioonid, peamiselt kaevikud, kus sõdurid on kaitstud käsitulirelvade ja suurel määral ka kaudtule eest. Kaevikusõda on muutunud sünonüümiks kurnamissõjale, kus patiseisus vastased üritavad üksteist aeglaselt ära väsitada. Sõjategevusega kaasnevad tihti suured kaotused, kuid tulemused jäävad tagasihoidlikuks.[1]
