Half of the supervisors I've had in the past were really good, understanding, and knew how to manage people and situations.
The other half, were very condescending, had an ego - and for some reason would ask for opinions and make fun of or shame people for saying certain things.
How do you deal with these sorts of situations? I think sometimes, it is possible in a jokey-manner to change the conversation or get people to understand you better, but it's not always possible if the supervisor thinks that they are 100% correct.
I just signed a contract for a temp job and my boss for this job, really really thinks he's part of the intellectual elite and seems to believe that everyone who acts differently from him, is subpar. He doesn't seem to understand that people who are not him, may have different lives, with challenges that limited them from reaching the same level. Some people may not be motivated, but others, were limited by the families they had to deal with or their starting place in life.
I don't' have to engage with him a lot, and it does say in the contract, that I can drop off at anytime, I guess just stay as long as it is meaningful?
