I apologize as I wrote this in a hurry.
I have worked in the MNC company for almost a year and a half which includes 6 months of internship by which they hired me. My manager has remained the same throughout the time and has supported me along the way very well to improve myself. During internship I worked on a project which involved research and development of a AI model for potential use. This was done by me mainly, with support from senior employe. With good result from the project, my manager told me to write a research paper on it and submit to conference. After I joined the company (as a full time) I wrote the paper and submitted to an international conference which then got rejected. I again wrote the paper to another very respected conference with updated content and finally got selected. But now that it has got selected my manager wants to travel and present the paper instead of me, citing that "I won't present it good". But as I spent almost an year and a half developing and writing the paper and i feel dejected and angry about the comment and strongly desire to change work or pursue further studies. On another note today I have a meeting with my higher managers on who should go to the conference( it's a big thing to get selected for this conference) . So I wanted to ask what I should do in this situation. Should i stand up or rollover? Keep in mind that I would have to stand up to a manager who was nice to me all 1 and half year.
The contributions for the paper goes:
Me 60%,
Senior employe 30%,
My manager 10%,
Please share your thoughts so I can do the right thing.i would like to go to the conference as it gives me opportunity to travel overseas and meet researchers and learn about new technology. Also I would true treasure the experience of travelling on my own. Btw I have decided to leave the company within 1 year and pursue higher studies.
