I want to ask for a 3 month leave. This is not a family, medical, or sick leave - I simply want to travel for three months. I work full-time in a corporate job in the US and have good health insurance coverage through my employer. My biggest reason for asking for a leave -- instead of quitting -- is that I would like to retain my health insurance while I'm traveling. I can't find any information about whether my company is required to keep me covered during my leave (considering it's not a leave covered under FMLA). Does anybody know if I can expect to be covered?
