Gektar (gekto- va ar) — tomonlari 100 m dan boʻlgan kvadrat maydoniga teng maydon metrik birligi: 1 ga = 10 000 m² = 100 ar = 100 sotix = 0,01 km²[1].



Gektar (gekto... va ar) — metrik oʻlchov tizimida maydon oʻlchov birligi; yer sathini, baʼzan suv sathini oʻlchashda qoʻllaniladi, ga bilan belgilanadi. 1 ga har tomoni 100 m boʻlgan kvadrat yuzaga teng: 1 ga= 10000 m2=10 ar=0,915 desyatina = 107641 kv. fut = 12 tanob = 0,73 botmon (8 pud).[2]

Oʻzbekistonda gektar yerning, asosan qishloq xoʻjalik yerlarining asosiy maydon oʻlchov birligi hisoblanadi. Oʻzbekistonda shuningdek "sotix" atamasi koʻp qoʻllaniladi: bir sotix (100 m²) gektarning 100 dan bir qismiga, yaʼni bir arga teng.

Regbi Xalqaro kengashi tomonidan regbi oʻynash uchun maydonning oʻrnatilgan maksimal oʻlchami, darvoza orqasidagi sinov doiralarini qoʻshgan holda — 144×70 m, bu 1,008 ga ni tashkil etadi.


Xalqaro matchlar uchun futbol maydoni tavsiya etiladigan 105×68 m oʻlchamga ega, bu 0,714 ga ni tashkil etadi[3].
