Recently I was asked the following question which I struggled to solve. Are there any pointers on what relevant questions could be asked / how problem can be broken down to move in the right direction?

A car is at location (0,0). You are provided by destination (x,y). You have a list of distances eg: (1,2,1,3). Each of these distances must be used only once but of these must be used. You can traverse in any direction (along x axis , y axis , diagonally etc)

Example 1: destination 3,4
distances (3,4)
solution: reachable. move 3 in x direction and 4 in y direction.

Example 2: destination 3 , 5
distances (1 ,1 ,4)
solution : reachable. by applying Pythagorus and reaching diagonally.

Example 3: destination 5 ,5
distances (1,1)
solution: not reachable.

You have to device an algorithm to identify if destination is reachable or unreachable.
