Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Vanuatu sign the Agreement on Establishing Diplomatic Relations
New York, 22 September 2010. Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Vanuatu established diplomatic relations today.

The Agreement on Establishing Diplomatic Relations between Kosovo and Vanuatu, a state that has recognized our country on 28 April 2010, was signed by the President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu and the Prime Minister of Vanuatu Eduard Natapei.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Skënder Hyseni, the Kosovo Ambassador to the United States Avni Spahiu, as well as other senior officials of the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu.
Speaking on the occasion, President Sejdiu assured Prime Minister Natapei of appreciation of the people and institutions for the recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by the Republic of Vanuatu.
Your decision has constituted a special incentive and encouragement to our engagements and our progress towards the future. I appreciate, in particular, the call that you have extended to other countries of Oceania to recognize the Republic of Kosovo, President Sejdiu emphasized.
He held the signing of the Agreement on Establishing Diplomatic Relations between the two countries a particular sign of an open existing and future cooperation in many fields.
Despite the geographic distance between us, we are close in terms of amity and friendship between the two peoples, President Sejdiu said, inviting the Prime Minister Natapei to visit the Republic of Kosovo.
The Prime Minister of Vanuatu Eduard Natapei said that he was very pleased with the signed agreement. As at the reception he staged last night, Prime Minister Natapei called again on other countries that have not recognized the Republic of Kosovo to do so as soon as possible.
He accepted the invitation to visit the Republic of Kosovo with pleasure and said he will lobby among Vanuatus friend countries for the recognition of our country.
