Establishment of Diplomatic Relations with Kosovo

- The Exchange of Notes to establish diplomatic relations between Japan
and the Republic of Kosovo took place on February 25 (Wed) in Pristina,
the capital of Kosovo, between Mr. Ryuta Mizuuchi, Minister of the Japanese
Embassy in Austria, and Mr. Ram Manaj, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic
of Kosovo.
- With this Exchange of Notes, diplomatic relations between the two countries
were established on the same day. (The Notes were signed on the Japanese
side by Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and on the
Kosovo side by Mr. Skender Hyseni, Minister of Foreign Affairs.)
- The establishment of diplomatic relations has laid the foundation of
friendly and cooperative future relations between Japan and Kosovo.
