Milla Jovovich revealed this morning on Twitter that Chinese actress Li Bingbing has been cast as Ada Wong in Resident Evil: Retribution.

“G’mornin every1! Well, I have some news that a lot of u will be interested in! We have finally cast our Ada Wong! Drum roll please! So, Ada Wong in RE5 is being played by Chinese actress Li Bingbing! We’re so excited!” Jovovich said.

Bingbing’s film credits include The Forbidden Kingdom, Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. She also stars in Jackie Chan’s new action adventure 1911.


In addition to Jovovich and Bingbing, the cast includes Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Michelle Rodriguez, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Johann Urb, Oded Fehr and Kevin Durand.


Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, the fifth installment is scheduled to hit theaters on September 14, 2012.
