Yoqub alayhis-salom - Qurʻonda tilga olingan paygambarlardan biri. Isxoq alayhis-salomning oʻgʻli, Yusuf alayhis-salomning otasi Yoqub alayhis-salom Allohning birligiga, ibodatiga daʻvat etuvchi paygʻambarlardan boʻlgan. Qurʻonda uning taqvodorligi va paygʻambarligi Allohning Ibrohim alayhis-salom avlodlariga koʻrsatgan marhamati sifatida ifodalangan (2:136/130, 140/134; 6:84).Yoqub alayhis-salom oʻgʻillari orasida Yusufga nihoyatda mehr qoʻygan edi. Bundan ranjigan boshqa oʻgʻillar Yusufdan qutulish yoʻlini izlaydilar. Uning joniga jabr qilib, quduqqa
tashlaydilar. Yoqub alayhis-salom sevimli farzandi dardida yigʻlayverib koʻzi koʻr boʻlib qoladi.
Qurʻonda aytilishicha, Yusufning koʻylagi Yoqub alayhis-salomning yuziga tekkach, uning koʻzlari ochiladi. Rivoyatlarga koʻra, yer yuzidagi barcha yahudiylar Yoqub alayhis-salomning oʻn ikki farzandlaridan tarqalgan.
