I find myself in a challenging spot. I believe that my boss has placed me in a Set-up-to-fail situation. Everything I do now is criticize. Recently, a collaborative team project was criticized for not progressing fast enough and my boss wanted more updates (despite being included on all update emails). I gracefully acknowledged the feedback and said I would communicate this back to the team. Once they heard this they quickly said “No need to tell the rest.” What? How can the team not know about feedback surrounding the team project. Why am I targeted? I believe they are scared to advertise their thoughts to other people who belong to other groups and not under their management. Is it me or is this inappropriate managing?
