I'm finishing up my bachelors this year in computer science and, logic and computation (think theoretical computer science/maths). I'm wanting to get a job as a quantitative developer however most of these jobs require at least a masters degree. As did a lot of people I messed around in my first year of uni and had a pretty poor GPA, this has been quite hard to recover and it doesn't look like I'm going to meet the cut off for getting into honours, I can, however, do a postgraduate diploma in computer science which after has the same entry into a masters program as honours would have. They're essentially the same programs (honours and postgrad diploma) however I'm wondering if this would be looked down upon enough to not make it worthwhile, financial institutions can be pretty picky about that sort of stuff. I'm intending to do a masters after the postgrad diploma

Unfortunately this is extremely difficult to say. The answers will be as varied as the number of companies and the number of decision makers out there.
