I've been hanging out with one of my male coworkers outside work for awhile, usually once a week. A few months ago he ended his relationship and after he got over the feelings he still had, we started hanging out a lot more, basically every other night at this point.

He has gotten a lot flirtier the past few weeks, and I am very much interested in him. We haven't kissed or done anything sexual, but whenever we watch a movie at his place we usually end up cuddling on his couch until we fall asleep. He has yet to make a move, so yesterday I decided I was tired of waiting on him and asked him if we could go on a real date. He said no and when I asked him why, he was nervous and refused to give an answer, so after an awkward half hour I went home.

Our company's policy allows dating if it's not between a supervisor and subordinate (we don't even work in the same department much less have power so it's not a matter of getting fired). When we went out to dinner today I was going to ask him again and press him further if he said no but he acted like nothing had ever happened. I was really enjoying it and decided not to risk ruining the evening, so here I am. I'm sure that he has feelings for me, he even call me sweetheart or some other cliche lovey-dovey name when he texts me.

I guess my question is where do I go? I want to get a solid answer. If he's not interested I want him to be honest. If he still has some feelings for his previous partner he's dealing with I can wait, but I feel like I've been led along. And if he just wants to be really close friends, I want to know where our boundaries lie. How should I approach this? I could go to his cube and ask but I don't want to feed the office rumor mill. The best time would probably be when we're out again but should I be forceful about getting an answer? Should I just call him now?
